Got everything ready Friday night for our first trip to Fisheating Creek, just West of Okechobee in Florida. Just before we were to head out we were greeted by a bubblin' battery and a stinky smell. A quick trip to Walmart to replace the battery and we were on our way. We had a great time with no other surprises.
Going to be in the Livermore Valley out by Wente Vinyards working as the EMT at a horse show all weekend. Need to stock up the fridge and pantry in the TC with all the stuff to keep me happy all weekend

Was planning on heading out this past weekend. Had it planned for about 3 weeks until the weather forecast has near steady rain all weekend where I wanted to go. Work was such that last week I had no problem getting an early start. Oh well.
Will give it a shot this weekend...think I'm heading to Elizabeth Furnace in the GWNF to do some mountain bike exploration as I haven't ridden that area yet. As it is only about 1.5 hours from the house...looks promising for quick weekend getaways.

Boy would love to get the camper out, but with near record breaking snows and cold, we have several feet of snow still on the ground. Today it actually got above freezing, and started out snowing like crazy, but it changed to rain about lunch! Yay, that means some more snow will be going away!! Alaska got most of the snow and cold designated for the south this year, so we are DONE... They are saying that the piles of snow in Anchorage, AK may not fully melt before next winter starts....
I'd like to get working on the camper again, as we would like to get out and use it too,... but it looks like it will still be a month or two...
Some one go enjoy some warm weather for those of us in Alaska...

Wifey and eldest daughter already have taken a couple of trips. My daughter is on the high school equestrian team and they stay at the event in the camper. I get to stay home and make sure the other two make it to school.

That's not what I wanted to hear about Alaska. We where planning on coming up first of June. Wife asked last night if we could leave in early May. I was hoping you have a record warm summer in Alaska.
Were just back from our first weekend camping trip of the year. It was well below freezing at night, but we were camped at over 8500'. I think we beat the rush.
