Yes,you are correct the prices are about the same. I had a sale price on my mind, buying 2 each units to power my 15000btu AC.

my vote goes to blue as they have fuel shut off valve so you can run fuel out of carb when shutting down engine.
they are both great but that is my reason to choose blue over red.

• The Honda EU2000i (all versions, standard, Companion, & Camo) has a cast-iron cylinder sleeve and 3-year warranty; full details at this link:
Click here for Honda Warranty Information
• You can find a Honda dealer in your area by using this link:
Click here for the Honda Dealer Locator
• Give me some time to investigate the engine life topic; I think there may be some regulations related to emissions levels (not actual engine "life") up to a certain number of hours of use.

Thanks Robert@honda do you work for an Honda outdoor dealer or car dealer? Either way are your motorcycle dealers doing like they have been doing out here and combineing Honda and Yamaha and others under one roof. It seems the dealers in Texas are no longer just one make. Just wondering.

I work for the manufacturer/distributor, American Honda Motor Co. (Power Equipment Division). The other divisions of AHM are Honda Auto, Acura, and Motorcycle.
Years ago, a number of Honda motorcycle dealers were exclusively Honda, and many of them also offered Honda Power Equipment products, including Honda Generators, lawn mowers, etc. The changes in the economy and declines in the motorcycle market made that a challenge for many dealers, and there has been a lot of consolidation. Still, there are plenty of Honda Motorcycle dealers out there, and if they don't offer Honda Generators, there's probably a dedicated outdoor power equipment dealer in the area that does.

I spoke to a guy that manages dealerships/shops. He says if the price is the same then buy the Yamaha, because it's a better generator. He says Honda may be living on their name a bit, because he had seen some "wierd" problems. Of course this is just his opinion, but he seems like he knows what he was talking about. Incidentally, he works for a different shop and doesn't sell Honda or Yamaha. They're sporting the Power House. On a sidenote, I hear good things about Power House, but they weigh more and are louder,so I'm not interested.
He also said that locating repair a facility for Yamaha Vs Honda is a non-issue.

Hi,
My Boliy won't start in sub freezing temperatures. I'm not pleased. When I asked for a refund because of many documented problems they told me the 15 day window for return was closed. So I do not have a viable generator. I would never buy this product.

I went with the Honda, based purely on the fact that around here there were more Honda outlets than Yamaha. I am extremaly satisfied. From what I have read they are both excellent machines.
