I have read several posts regarding back up cameras. To those of you who are also researching such purchase what looks good now? I would be nice to have one that works going forward not only in reverse.
Thank you, Bill

My back up camera is on all the time I am driving, forward or backward. Most backup cameras get there power from the "Back up Lights" so when you select Reverse it comes on. So if you want it on while driving forward, just wire it to a power supply that is ignition switch controlled, then you will have it on anytime you are driving. I use it as much as I use my mirrors.

I missed what 2011 has to do with the question!

My backup camera is selectable, either always on or reverse activated. My old 5" CRT monitor is starting to show signs of fading though, so I'm considering a 7" color LCD system from Rear View Safety that has a similar selection feature.

Just hook into your running light instead of backup lights. Then you can have it on by turning on the running lights which isn't a bad idea from my point of view.
