ANSWER LINK

===================

Sunbeam, ID - Yankee Fork Gold Dredge

very cool trip w/ the tour of the dredge and the ghost town up the road.
breakfast at the stanley baking co, white otter rafting, overnight on the shores of redfish... nice trip there.

on edit i see you orig listed the ghost town name w/ the photo and i just clicked on the "ANSWER LINK" which tells everything about the dredge. No need to guess the answer i suppose when its given as part of the question.

No not Salton sea. If the Prince Edwards was a guess on my pic, also a no.
The water visible in the pic is a channel that joins the Atlantic in less than a 1/3 of a mile. For me the best campsite I have ever stayed in. The campground has about a dozen roomy sites similar to this on the water, and many more a short walk away.

That photo reminds me of my trip to CA back in the late 80's. If I remember correctly we saw elk at Prairie Creek SP. Could that be where your picture was taken?
