Hi folks ....... after owning 4 pups over the last 20 yrs we are considering a high wall pup and are weighing the pros and cons. A question has come to mind and that is about the extra wall height when folding / closing. How difficult is it to stuff the tenting into the ends and sides for a 5' 11" person? Given the extra height is it an issue in your experience?

Thanks ......Mike

I'm going to go look at one this afternoon. I'll be sure and note. I'm 5'8".

On average high wall series campers run apx 8 inches higher than their low wall companions.

Hello

Regarding the Height of the HW..

We just got ours in Oct and we dont have any problems stuffing it all in there.. It is higher , just take your time . My DH is 5'9 and I am 5"7 ..

we have opened it up and closed it alot since having it..

the only thing we are not looking forward to is doing it in the rain..

This is our first Pup. we used to have a 36" TT..

good luck which one are you looking at ?

I am 5'9" and do not have any problem stuffing the tenting in on my 2005 Fleetwood Niagara. I do sometimes climb on the beds and pull the tenting towards the middle. This reduces the bulk near the ends and helps with closing.

We always put up 9x12 Tarps over both bed ends to add more rain protection and better heat transfer thru the fabic tops.

The tarps are the first thing that is added while the trailer roof is still down to the rain gutter on both bed ends using stretch rope to hold the tarp tight in the rain gutter. The 9X12 then droops down over both bed ends until we get the bed ends pulled out and setup. Works quite well when it is raining as you are working under the tarp.

The only bad thing for us when setting up in the rain is we have to pull out all of the things we have stored in the trailer floor area when being transported before we can get inside to set thing up. I use the 24-gal ACTION PACKER type storage containers to store most items for transport. The saving grace on those is the large front deck on out popup. I have five of those action packers containers stored on it.

Our OFF-ROAD POPUP is approaching 5 years old now and the fabic tops look very good to be this old.

I am a wee bit shorter (5'6"), and use the aid of a sponge mop to help push in the canvas so it doesn't bunch in the corners. I do have to allow 'settlement time' before trying to latch the corners.

I have to add I am 6 foot 5 inches tall and I normally do not have an issue but if we have a campsite that has a slope in front of the camper it can be a challenge for me to reach the tenting. So in your drive in may not be an issue but out in a campground it could become an issue. Watch where you park yourself on the site and if you can't go back and ask for a different site.

Im 6'4" and have the Niagara. The only issue Ive ever had was when the back end of the site drops off. The easyiest thing to do is just hop up on the back bumper and fold the canvas in and it is no problem at all
