I was not happy to see they were pumping this B10 or up to 10% BIO fuel the sign said of this stuff. I put in 1/2 tank and hope I don't have any problems. I go to Pilot/Flying J and have not run up against this yet there.
I hope no one has had filter problems etc? I would think if they are pumping it and the truckers are using it, it should be okay?
Comments?

I filled up at the Flying J in Anthony, TX the other day. The pump indicated that the fuel contained up to 15% Bio. 550 miles and no problems, then filled up at a Stripes Station. Pump indicated up to 20% Bio. Only about 50 miles on this. Hoping for the best.

just carry a extra fuel filter, as bio cleans the system.
b100 makes a great hand cleaner as 100% bio is non-toxic.
most diesel run much quieter, due to the flame/burn properties of the fuel.
starts burning at a higher temp and completes burning at a lower temp compared to #2 diesel.
diesel has light aromatics in the fuel that light off quick causing more of the diesel rattle we are so used to..
several states are starting to require a percentage of bio in diesel.
i know my old ford's exhaust is so much cleaner when i use bio and the french fry smell isn't so bad...

I used the B20 by mistake when I went to Yellowstone. My Cummins loved the stuff. It has never run quieter or had more power. I can't guarantee it wont cause problems but my results were good.

I thought all diesel owners carried an extra filter. I wouldn't go around the block without one.

If I remember right, the Ultra low sulfur(USLD) diesel was supposed to, and did, "clean" the fuel system of all debris. Since USLD has been on the market now for a few years, I would guess that all diesel MH's already have "clean" fuel systems and that bio-diesel will have no affect on a general basis. Most dirty fuel systems were cleaned, and went through the filter change procedure, a few years ago. I'm sure that there will be some individual problems creep up but I doubt if it will ultimately be the fuel to blame.

it not just the junk in the older fuels, it's the waxes which all petroleum diesel has in it. the bio will clean the wax out... think of vasoline which is a by product of petroleum.

If you have a Cat engine....from seminar notes:
What is Caterpillar’s position regarding bio diesel?
If you choose to operate your Caterpillar engine using bio diesel, it must meet
Caterpillar’s specifications (ASTM D6751 or DIN 51606). Bio diesel fuel has
limited storage life and contains less energy content (5 – 7 %) than regular #2
diesel. Caterpillar allows up to 30% blend of bio diesel fuel.

Welcome to the wonderful world of gasoline users that also have to deal with lower fuel mileage and less storage time, with ethanol blended fuel in their toads and MH's.
