We've tried Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal. It's sturdy stuff. We've even gone there.

But I like Snoqualmie Falls Oatmeal much better. Here in the NW, Winco Food stores carry it. It's NOT inexpensive compared to Quaker Old Fashioned but there's a big enough difference in taste that I'll buy Snoqualmie.

I did not know that the Oleo brand margine was still around. Have not saw that brand for about 30 years or more.

I like my steel cut oats toasted before cooking in the pressure cooker. I toast up a quart jar of them and just take from that as needed.

I eat oatmeal almost every morning. Here's my standard:
1 cup old fashion oats
2 table spoons ground flax seek
slivered almonds (a gusto)
Afterwards, I sweeten with raw honey and top off with ground cinnamon and a whole banana.

We love steel cut oats too but have never cooked them in my pressure cooker. How do you do it? I was afraid the oats would clog the hole and it would blow!!!
Can I make some at home before I go on vacation?

Thanks Go-Dog. Never thought of using the pressure cooker for steel cut oats. I have a pressure cooker that goes in the microwave by Prepology. Gonna try this!

Please, how do you make them. I like the steel cut oats and my pressure cooker, so this should be a winner.
I make mine with milk instead of water and add frozen blueberries. I use either the Quaker Oats Old Fashion or John McCann's steel cut that comes in a can.
