I was checking the mountings for my front jacks because the trailer is shaking more than usual as we walk around.
I opened the propane door on the right side to check the tightness of the pinch bolts on the brackets. To my surprise the upper bolt was touching my propane tank. The paint is scratched off and there is a tiny dent in the tank. I'll probably replace the tank to be safe. I hate to think what could have happened if that bolt had punctured the tank!
CHECK YOUR TANKS!
I think somebody at the factory used a longer than stock bolt.
Great call Joe! Checked mine this morning and sure enough the right side upper bolt was up against the tank. Fortunately there was above 3/4 of thread sticking out beyond on the nut, so my sawzall was happy to fix the problem.
FYI it doesn't look like the lower bolt will be a problem on these as it sits nearer the base of the tank.
Noticed that the bolts were a little too close to the propane bottles last year. Took a 9/16 socket Removed the nut, took out the carriage bolt and put it in the other way and replaced the nut. All is well and no clearance problems. No cutting required.

They must have figured it out by the time mine was built this past February and turned them around like you did.
