Are water/electric camping spots readily available in the Monument Valley area?

Yes, if you go to Gouldings RV Park. Nice amenities including an indoor pool, laundry, full hook ups etc but they are pricey. Beautiful views and only a few miles from MV though the sites are a little tight especially for larger rigs. Reservations are highly recommended.

Perhaps you'd be so kind as to mention what state these places are in.

Monument Valley is in Southern Utah/Northern Arizona. Many of the classic John Ford westerns were filmed there. Here is a shot of the RV Park at Gouldings:

This shot was taken at dawn overlooking Monument Valley:

Desert Captain, I think you just fell for 2oldman jerking your chain because of an earlier post on here requesting location when we mention a park. But those are nice shots - we sure enjoyed our stay there last year.

It would not be the first time that has happened here. I must have missed that post as we have been out camping. We had a great time as well and I highly recommend a visit to anyone who has not been.

MV is the one stop I would like to repeat many times.

Have a shower waiting if you do the tour in the back of a PU truck with bus seats. It can be dusty but it is worth it in my view.
