I am heading to Gouldings Rv park the first week of April I have space 34 reserved. We are anxiously looking forward to the trip. My family and I have never been. If your headed in Mid April you might want to get a spot reserved. I have been told by other members who have stayed at Goulding's space 34 was the best site.

With your truck there is no need to pay the inflated prices for a tour of the valley. You can drive it yourself, take your time and dodge all the dust that comes with the open trucks full of tourists. Have fun!

If you are an early riser, I'd highly recommend going into the tribal park to catch sunrise. I was surprised they don't have any attendant on duty for that. I was there about 15 years ago and just prior to sunup noticed that over a hundred people had joined me. I've seen many magnificently spectacular, breathtaking dawnings, and that is among the finest. Of course, the very best are here in Maine, looking out over the ocean. Unfortunately, they are far and few between, as many dawnings are obscured by the coastal fogs.

OT, I believe that a Forest Gump running scene was filmed on the stretch of road leading to Mexican Hat, Utah.

Another one here for Gouldings. Right in the center of it all. We are 40' MH and had no problems. Nice big gas station in town there also if you need to fill up.
If you have the time drive to Goosenecks State Park up by Mexican Hat. Beautiful sight to see.
Here is a web page to wet your appetite!

We are definitely excited. I only have 7 more days till we leave. I have been researching the area for over 6 months I have even watched all the John Wayne movies filmed in MV the last few weeks. I will have alot to add once I come back.

Take your time. Other than seeing long lost family in NV the unplanned stop to MV was my favorite stop on our 8000 mile cross country last fall. If you can do horses the kids loved that. I rode the BULL. At least that is what I call the PU's with a platform with old bus seats. Remember OSHA rules do not apply in Indian Nations.
