The traditional "old school" method of switching a dome light was by switching ground. Much simpler with multiple door switches.
Of course, some new models run the dome light via electronics.

I may have found an answer and wanted to check with you guys to hear your thoughts. It is a bad ground, and I was told to just jump a ground from another light and that will solve the problem. I did it and it worked, should I be worried about chasing down a bad ground? Your thoughts?

s/b fine for the trip. I would still dig in at some point to find the ground bus and check for a lose or burn wire. Mine is behind the breaker-fuse panel.

Ok so I'm making some headway. With my tester I have power to the black and when I connect the light, I get nothing. I tried borrowing a neutral from another light and it works.
Is there a way to chase down where my neutral is faulty? Or should I leave well enough alone? Thanks for all your help so far.

Most likely the trouble will be at a connection. Either at another fixture that uses the wire in common or at the main bus connection.

@Smkettner, would I find ground bus in the coach or in the engine compartment? Any a better question, would be what does it look like? Thanks so much for your input.
If I don't get this fixed, I think my wife is going to divorce me.

I have a trailer so yours might be way different.
My ground bus is behind the house breaker / fuse panel. About 6 screws and the panel pulls out on mine.

Bus bar is just a block strip of metal with a dozen screws to tie all ground wires to a main frame ground connection.

Here is a bad pic behind my panel. Very bottom left is a clip of one end of the ground bus.
Wires attach on the hidden side so you don't see them. That is why it is a poor picture.
