We are buying a new Fleetwood Tioga Ranger with the three cameras in the dash. When I took it for a test ride, the cameras switch to side view when I touch the directional switch. But, there is a 5 to 8 second delay. The screen goes black with moving a shadow ball spinning (like a microsoft hourglass waiting to catch up).
I thought it should be instantanious.
Anyone have one of these or know of it?
I did tell them to have it checked out before we pick up the unit this week. I will get in another new unit and see what that one does if need be.

I have a 3 camera system with the Voyager name on the dash monitor. Switching is almost instance between cameras.

Just bought a 2011 Greyhawk, with the 3-cameras, and there is a slight delay when switching, but only about 2 seconds, just enough to notice.

Having picked up the Ranger yesterday, they have worked on the cameras; when touching the turn signal lever, they immediately switch to side view mode. They do take a few seconds to return to rear view, but that is acceptable. So that issue can be resolved.

I also purchased the new Tioga Ranger and my cameras have that delay as well.

Sounds like a good idea, Gary. What I gather from the post, the side cameras are actuated by the turn signal lever to supplement the side view mirrors. This would eliminate blind spots when changing lanes and turning. I like the concept.

What Replant writes is true. Actually, I have less vision to the side than I had with my 40' DP, because the sides of the cabin stick our wider than my cab. The cameras are in the mirror bottoms, and really work nice when changing lanes.
