I just received a 'SORRY! We made a mistake' note in the mail from GS with new standard Roadside Assistance cards. It states that GS mistakenly sent out the Platinum membership by mistake.
So what gives?
Marcus says keep the Platinum yet GS says no !!

Wow - after reading all of the above posts I am hesitant to write this but... here goes;
First my GS membership, #61285607, dates back over 20 years. I have had, and enjoyed ERS for most of those years.
On May 11 of this year I submitted my renewal and subsequently my credit card ( a GS CC!) was charged and I received new ERS cards. I noted that they acknowledge my long term membership.
Today two things happened - I first received a telephone call reminding me that my ERS was about to expire and would I like to renew over the phone. I told the lady that we had done that some time ago but she said she had no record of such. End of discussion. Later this morning in the mail, came a renewal notice for GS ERS, #801828898, with the note that we had been members for 1 year!!
Just what is going on? I suspect that with the 'joining of GS and CW together" that one hand does NOT know about the other hand!
I am assuming that the original card with # 612 85607, expiring a year from now is valid. BUT - with the travel season about to arrive I need some assurance please, before I need the Assistance that has been charged to my GS creditcard.

I also received the "Sorry about the Mistake" letter. Although, now that I have had time to think about it, I would like to upgrade from standard to platinum. I can't seem to locate the means to accomplish this though.

Received another set of cards in the mail with the "Sorry, we made a mistake you were sent Platinum cards and here are your new cards" so this set is for standard. More confusing by the day.

As the OP, I too have recieved multile letters and sets of cards. However, I'm pretty sure I'm at the Platinum level at this point. I think you can verify that by going into your accoutn on-line and seeing what the print-out card has on it. Anyway, that's waht I'm figuring is the final word on what level my membership is at.

To all concerned about the card mix up. A small group of members were sent the Platinum cards by mistake. Once the mistake was discovered a plan was made in an attempt to correct the error that included sending out the correct cards with an apology. All of the members that received the cards in error were not automatically upgraded because not everyone wants Platinum. Any of the members that received the Platinum cards who would like to be upgraded to the Platinum program can do so by sending me a private message. If anyone has a question as to what program they are currently are member of they can review their account at www.goodsamers.com or contact member services at 800-842-5351. Anyone with a question can also send me a private message with your Good Sam information and I will contact you.

Special thanks to GSRoadside Assistance (Zach) for straightening out the mix up with the standard/platinum card issuance. This turned out to be a great experience test driving the Good Sam Club when things go wrong. The response was immediate and personal and quickly resolved. I am thoroughly impressed!
