Figured I would post an update on our Fun Mover 39C on various fronts:
1) My "power gremlin" is back. Before, the gremlin was just where I couldn't get the batteries to charge when plugged into shore power... (but it did work on generator power). Then... suddenly... it all started working again. Stored the RV for 3 months for the winter, and pulled it out again this last weekend for a "shakedown cruise" in preparation for this coming season. Now, I can't get 12V to anything when the unit is unplugged from shorepower. When I'm plugged in, or the generator is running, all of my 12V stuff works. When I'm unplugged, none of the 12V stuff works. Batteries are good (I ran a battery charger on them, and they hold a good, full charge... and my liftgate in the back still works off of them)... but that's it. If anyone has a clue, I'm all ears (eyes).
2) I have a small leak on the rear air conditioner. Before I tear into this, is there any "common" failure point for these units for water?
3) I noticed that the bathroom smelled HORRIBLE when I went into it over the weekend... it's a sort of... well... bathroom-y, mildew-y smell. But I couldn't find a trace of water anywhere. What I THINK I finally found was that the grey water vents for the bathroom (sink and shower) are actually under the cabinet... I think that if the unit sits just long enough, the water will evaporate out of the P-trap, and let the vapors from the gray water tank into the bathroom. Does this sound logical to anyone? We've installed a vortex vent for the black water tank, and have all but pressure washed the bathroom, but still encounter "that smell" from time to time...
4) Anyone happen to know what the make/model of the outside entertainment unit is? When I bought the unit last year, the previous owner swore he had the stereo face in a box in his garage. Fast forward today, and he can't find it (I believe him, everyone else on the rig was exactly as he advertised)... I would love to find the model of that stereo if I can and see if I can find a new face... otherwise, I'm stuck putting a new unit into it. (Which... might not be a HORRIBLE thing, as I'm sure the deck is a cheap one).
Thanks in advance...
Jay

1. Cannot help with this one.
2. You may need to tighten down the bolts that hols AC to roof. Remove inside grill. You should see the bolts.
3. You may have a bad Air Admittance Valve.. You will find it on top of a upright piece of pipe under each sink. There are cheaper models than the one shown.
4. A picture of the radio would help.
2) Ok... I will take a gander at that this morning. (I don't remember seeing bolts, but I wasn't looking for them either).
3) That pic looks a lot like the doo-dads that are attached to the PVC pipe under the sink. As cheap as they are, I'll get a couple replacements and try it out. (Thanks!)
4) I'll put up a pic this afternoon... not much to see... just a bare stereo back that is missing a front plate. I was hoping another FunMover could post up a "mine is a binford 9000 (something something)...

Hope its not a Binford 9000. They stopped making them in 1999.
- lectrical - there's a solinoid under the fridge that turns on the battery connect. U can plug in power either shore or genny and the rig will run . Will run with no batteries. Unless this solinoid is on the switch at your door does not connect 12 v to the converter/charger. You could have the converter plugged in or on genny but no charging is going on. Find which solinoid it is or pull the switch out and track color back under fridge.
-mold/ mildew..on mine I found a slight crack in the dicor caulking for the vent. I eternabonded it. That stopped a slight leak trickling down in rain the outside of shower along some plywood. NEXT; found the putty used to seal the tub and pan seam together was pulling away front left corner as you face faucet. Water leaked out and caused some molding. Fixed it. Access is via generator panel and co2 detector on floor. While in there I also added some heater hose to open a vent in storage area and shored up support for the pan and drain tubes.
Is that a start?
can't help with the binford 9000 as mine is a POS 2012
