That's a good point right there. Emission parts removal require tuning to shut off the CEL that shows up after. Contrary to tuners claims, OEM's can tell if the programming had been tampered with, even the ones that copy and save the stock programming. It's one of the questions I asked before buying extended warranty for my used truck.
I commonly see in a Ford forum I am on "My truck started doing _______ so I floored it to see if it would clear up. It is worse now so I will be returning it to stock and bringing it to the dealer for warranty...."

Ever drive behind a vehicle like yours? You stink.
Assuming you really aren't gone, please tell us your convoluted reasoning about how removing your smog equipment benefits you.
If it is only "stink" that is a small problem.
But it is more than stink.
Try long term exposure to hazards like Nitric acid, Sulfuric acid, particulates that cause lung disease.
Apparently most of the people doing that don't have the money or wherewithal to go to places where these issues are so serious that illness is routine because everyone think it is not a problem.
Have a look and see if you want to live in those places:

Caring about air quality = sissy boy?
Wow...just, wow.
The next time you and your family go out to dinner, can I sit at the next table over and smoke cigars?
Sure...I like the smell of a good cigar.

SoCal, that's why it's a good idea to get a fresh smog test when you're selling a vehicle. It protects YOU because it's true the buyer can come back against the seller if the vehicle doesn't pass smog.
A great idea, but it doesn't protect you from:
- future emissions tests that are more stringent.
- voided warranties even if smog gear put back on.
Best to never touch a tuner / modded vehicle to begin with. Even if it is put back to stock.
Always verify factory warranty.
And then, you have older trucks with 100,000+ miles...long out of warranty. I work with a guy that has a mildly-tweaked Ram 2500...it's a 24V Cummins, I think a 2000 or 2001. He's running maybe 400HP, maybe 500 with the controller turned up...the truck looks stock except for stacks and what I think are Power Wagon wheels, and only smokes when the controller is set to "competition".
