I left my steps out while parked for too long..I think. They are not pulling in fully without assistance. Assuming the issue may be some rust where they are hinged, can someone advise the best lubricant that can stand up to the rain, etc. Thanks.

x2. Also, before you spray, use compressed air to blow out the dirt and rust from the joints.

in a spray can ...CHAIN LUB... ITS GOT GREASE AND MOLY.

Seeps into tight bearings and last.


second: marine bearing lub.... wont wash out.


when u play in the sand .... you can get stuck

Kwikee lube is white lithium grease.

Walmart sells white lithium grease in a spray can for $1.69 in their auto dept.

I use foaming motorcycle / bicycle chain lube......one squirt a year on each pivot point keeps it moving freely......

Molybdenum disulphide powder in aerosol form. Try Dri-Slide.
The stuff does not attract grit and dust like grease or oils, lubricates far better, and lasts ten times as long. If it's good enough for an M16 it's good enough for me :-)
