What could be simpler than heating up a package of frozen peas for dinner?
1. Dump in saucepan.
2. Add water.
3. Set on burner and turn on the heat.
Shortly, I got wind of skipping step #2.
Ruined the pan, too.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

Prepackaged uncle bens rice:
1: squeeze to break up
2: tear open top
3: microvave on high for 90 seconds
Forget #2 and the package opens all on its own.

Just after we were married, I came home and found a pool of cooking oil under the HOT AIR pop-corn machine.
Still decided she was a keeper!

I can't cook anything that doesn't come in a can or a box. I have been known to eat TV dinners when I'm out camping.
Tonight I'm going to take a 2 day old Taco Johns soft shell taco , I'm going to heat it up, dump it on a bag of pre-shredded lettuce, and make a taco salad. That's going to be my supper.

I also found that if your trying to make fresh sweet potatoes in the microwave make sure you poke the skin of the potato. It exploded so hard that it blew the door of the microwave open.
Then the microwave would not work for 2 days. Somehow it fixed itself and 10 years later it's still working in my kitchen.

The only meal DW ever burned was the first breakfast she made for me - the day after our wedding. In all fairness it was the first time she ever cooked on a gas stove (vs. electric). She's a great cook & I have the body to prove it.........

DW managed to burn water once. well, not really, but that's what we call it. she was cooking boil-in-bag rice and forgot all about it. found the melted remains of the pan all over the stove heating coil. had to buy a new pan and coil. rice was pretty well shot too.

The cooking gene skipped me! My grandmother, mother and sister were/are all good cooks and love to cook. I HATE TO COOK and after 35 years of trying I still HATE TO COOK.
We recieved a crock pot as a wedding present. I decided to cook spegetti one night right afte we were married. I used the crock pot. DH brought home 2 co-workers for supper. I cooked the spegetti sauce on the stove and let the spegetti NOODLES cook all day long in the crock pot!
When I went to dump the "noodles" in the collander to drain them, a big dough ball rolled out of the crock pot! To make matters worse, DH and I did not have the 28 cents to buy another box of noodles (DH was in USAF and was just out of boot camp). We had to borrow the money from DH buddies to go get some more noodles. I was so embaressed but we all laughed about it all night.
It has been all downhill since. We eat out a lot!
