I kind of was having the same problem with airing up my 19.5 tires on the motor home. The tire gauge I was using ells me I still need more PSI, so I continue to put air it the tire I'm airing up. The compressor is running, and it's still taking air, but the air gauge is still showing low PSI. At this point I desided to invest in a new air gauge. Guess what, the tire was tired up to the max output of the air compressor.Through the old air gauge in the trash and get you a new one.

You should also check the air chuck. I bought two, both had 90 lb maximum printed on them.
Bought a Heavy Duty check with no presure limit, worked fine.

I tried this on all 4 tires and it would not fill. I cant even hear any air going in. I do not have a supply air gauge so that cant be the issue.

Is the hose you're using actually connected to the compressor?

Dang, thats mean!! im sure it is. well hopefully. uhh well uhh, are you sure the hose is connected to the compressor? LOL. just picking cant have fun on the TV section anymore because everyone gets there panties in a wad. I had that problem once before, and I had my valve stems changed. out of 3 chucks I could not get any of them to work. I carry a small pancake comp with me and I wanted to be sure I could add air if needed. I still not sure why mine did it.will

And a safety question. are you using an extension so you aren`t standing directly in front of the tire while filling it? you should be using about a 5 foot hose with a clip on air chuck (the kind that clips on to the valve stem). otherwise it sound like your compressor isn`t up to the task.

It sounds that the compressor you are trying use in not up to the job. Try a larger compressor some where and see if it will raise your pressure. If it does you have a compressor problem. Most small compressors are just hype when it comes to Max psi.

Hi,

My 120 lb compressor can just *barely* do 85 lbs. To do that I sometimes have to deliberately let some air out of the compressor tank--then let it cycle. This gets "old" rather fast with six tires and two air bags (don't forget the spare, too). When this compressor dies I'll look for one that is 130 lbs.

You may need a higher pressure compressor.

the problem definitely sounds like it's the air compressor. You can't use a cheap Home depot type compressor on large tires with high psi ratings, it won't have enough air delivery to do so. You need a standup compressor, prob. 240 volt,a gas powered 150 psi compressor with 20-25 cfm, or just take it by a tire shop and they'll prob. do it free of charge.

I agree.. Many compressor's (even comercial ones) wouldn't fill my 2500's tires.. Just not enough power!
