We have a 2010 Fleetwood Fiesta 34B and the edges of the drawers are all chipping and peeling. Fleetwood was of absolutely no help, said it was humidity (we are in Palm Springs..desert) and some of what we thought were wood finishes seem to be contact paper. Any recommendations on how to repair them? We are VERY disappointed in Fleetwood., and this is a relatively new rig.

You could have new drawer fronts made for replacement using the original as the model. Chips would be hard to repair to look good.

The above is a good recommendation.
A possible alternative would be new contact paper? Use wood filler to fill in the chips and then use a matching contact paper of the entire drawer?
Not sure that new fronts can be matched to the existing cabinetry but of course that would be the best alternative.

The rig is barely a year old..do other people have this problem with Fleetwood? We are simply amazed in a $130,000 rig to have such CHEAP workmanship

I believe that the drawer fronts and cabinet doors are all solid wood. In 2010, this was a middle gas MH, and should have pretty good quality. You can get new Drawer fronts, or doors from Fleetwood, at a pretty reasonable price.

Sorry about your problems
Good luck

Actually contact paper is very common. Some of it is good, some not so.

The real easy way to tell on the best, is to look at the rails and stiles of a door (the frame) if you don't see ANY End-Grain wood, it's a contact cover.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

The fiesta is an entry motorhome. My Excursion DP has maple door fronts ad the added cost. Cabinet materials should be on your review list when purchasing if it important to you. Fleetwood generally offers a big bang for the buck. The more bang you want the more bucks are required. JMO

If your drawer fronts and cabinet door frames are not real wood, no amount of fixing is going to make them look good for long. Best to change them out for real wood.

My Southwind has covered particle board for the cabinet sides and fronts, but the drawers and door frames are genuine maple. That was one of the things I remember looking for back in 2004 when we bought the coach. It was easy to see what was and what wasn't.
