Our first outing of 2012. Looking forward to hanging with our newfound camping friends we met at Reidsville City park CG last fall. They are under new ownership as of last summer, so we'll see what improvements have been completed. We're excited to finally be back out in our trailer! Seems like forever.

It has been years since we have stayed at Zooland. Please give a report.
Looks like you timed it about right to see the new Dinosaur exhibit opening this weekend at the Zoo.

Let us know how the renovations are coming under the new owners. Have a great trip. Hopefully, the storms forecasted will stay away. I think we are gonna head to Sycamore again this weekend. Not sure when we will get to Zooland next.

Will do. I just saw the forecast, always seem to have the chance of rain anyway. That's why we all have trailers!! Not sure if we'll do the zoo thing or not. They said they have brand new bathrooms/bathhouses, which were in terrible condition last summer when we stayed. Also said they totally renovated the putt-putt, not that we ever play but that definitely needed it.

We met the new owners last June right before they took over Zooland at Barnyard RV in Lexington,SC which they also own. I enjoyed our conversation after he found out we were old members at Zooland. We actually stayed 2 different times at Zooland later last year and all the changes he had said they were going to do were proceeding. If you haven't been there lately for whatever reason (I had mine for staying away for almost 2 years), try it you'll like it.

I wish they had FHU's down by the creek, but I understand it's a low lying area and the issues that leads to. She told me they owned another one in SC, I must have stayed right when they bought it.

If you do take pictures I would love to post them on the site in my signature. Be thinking of me I will be in a tent camping with a couple of hundred other boy scout this weekend. The storms will come to Carthage they may or may not hit Asheboro, but most certainly they will find the boy scouts. It never fails.

Oh Lord, yes they will hit you scouts. They did me and my wife when we camped with them...... I'll try to remember to get her or myself to take some good pics this time. For some reason, I just couldn't hang with the scout system. Great stuff if you can truly dedicate to it though.

Funn thing we were at Stone Mountain State Park a couple weekends ago and on that Saturday, we got a heavy rainstorm. After it ended, we went for a ride and as we were passing the big group camping area, I noticed that there were about 7 or 8 boy scout tents set up there. They managed to get there and set up right BEFORE the rain...lol
