We also have factory installed side cameras on our Allegro. I didn't have them on past RVs and I really like them for a quick check before pulling over on the Interstate to pass a truck. I don't think I would have added them, but since they came with, I use them.

I was happy to get the side camera's on my new coach... however...
I find them distracting and annoying during the daytime. They fuzz in and out depending on how bright the sun or a glare is. Mirrors are much better and more reliable during the day IMHO.

I do however find them useful when driving at night, backing up in a campsite (anytime), and pulling up close to something like a curb. YMMV

Much easier to make a quick glance to one of the mirrors than those cameras. I have them...never ever use them.

If you have one screen and 3 cameras....how do your instantly select one of them or do you try watching all at the same time on a split screen?

Like Isaid earlier, I don't have them and never tried them but, on the surface, it doesn't sound like something you can just glance and and see a broad picture like you can with mirrors.

Typically the side camera displays on the screen when you turn on the signal light

Side cams are a complete waste while driving. Use
the mirrors, and upgrade them if necessary.

Can't help you with the install question, however I really like having the ones on our coach. When I first had them I thought they were more of a gadget/toy, but found they are extremely handy in heavy traffic and complement the mirrors for blind spots.

No signal displays rear camera, turn signal to the left displays left camera, turn signal to the right displays right camera.
