Does anybody tow a 1995-2002 manual transmission Mercury Cougar, Ford Contour or Mercury Mystique?

If so, please offer any hints or suggestions.

The Cougar is on the same platform as the Ford Contour and Mercury Mystique, which Remco lists as towable as is for the 5-speed.
Blue Ox lists a baseplate for the Contour/Mystique and judging from the drawings in the Blue Ox installation manual for them, it appears to be similar, if not identical, to the Cougar baseplate (with the exception of the receptacle mounts).

Perhaps I should ahve been more specific in that I'm asking for input from anybody having direct experience towing any of the three (3) models.
