Last year, we stayed in the city with trains, planes & automobiles @Sundermeier (high priced) and saw most of STL. Then in the fall moved out in the country with sheep and hummingbirds @Sunrise RVP (cheaper, cash only) in Moscow Mills. It put us closer to Hannibal, which we really enjoyed.

Babbler or Cuiver River would be your closest, but Hawn State park outside Ste Genevieve, Mo is about the prettiest you'll find. about 10 miles further to the arch than Cuiver River, but well worth it in my opinion. If you're an Elk, there's a couple of lodges that provide Wal-Mart type lodging, some with elect.
Hope this helps.

Camping in a Sportsmobile. How much better can it get?

We always stay at the Casino Queen across the river in East St. Louis. Beautiful view of the Arch and downtown from the rear of the Casino.
We find it convenient for all our sight seeing needs.

Thanks for everyone's help....
My question is,for such a big city and area, why in the world aren't there more choices for RVing in the St. Louis area?

I would have thought there would be more state parks close by...

Edmund Babler State Park is the best around St. Louis. It's an easy drive into the city and is a gorgeous park.

There is another private RV park across the river in Cahokia, IL (Cahokia RV Parque). It was o.k. If I were to stay in STL again I'd go to Casino Queen.

Most people want to get the heck out of St. Louis, not camp there.
