Personally, I like having the bathroom as far away from the bed as possible. The closeness was something that I did not like about my fifth wheel or when I traveled with a friend in a Class A motorhome.
That makes no sense to me. Why walk the length of whatever RV you have when you need to get up in the middle of the night to tinkle (or whatever)?
Plus the bathroom between the sleeping area and the living area acts as a buffer should one of you stay up later, tinkering on the computer, watching TV or whatever....

I think he might have been referring to the sounds that one may hear coming from the bathroom which is the reason he likes the john as far away as possible.
A person might as well get over it there is no such place where you'll have complete privacy in an RV. Not even the biggest ones are insulated enough to where you will not hear a sonic boom coming from the john!

If walking the fifteen or twenty feet is a challenge, I suppose it would be better to have the potty close to the bed. I like to disturb and be disturbed as little as possible by my traveling partner and that includes listening to bathroom noises. One man's "tinkle" is another man's annoyance. I said, "personally", not that it was best for you or anyone else.

After 30 years of marriage I'm not to concerned about our "potty noises"!
Walking 20 feet in the dark without tripping over the dogs would be a challenge without waking up anyone sleeping in the other part of the trailer, yup.
Our house also has an ensuite which I guess Tom would think are highly overated, right Tom? No ensuite in your house, cuz "one man's "tinkle" is another man's annoyance"! Interesting chice of words... (not that there's anything wrong with that!)
And why would you be "curious" about how I sleep at home or anywhere else? You don't seem to understand what "personally" means. It means that what I like may be different from what you like. You seem intent on making your preference the only and best one. I think you are the one with your head somewhere and it is not in the toilet.
