Our last PDI was flawless as we found no items to be fixed. Our dealer pointed out some small scrapes on the arm of one of our euro recliners and said the arm had been ordered but not arrived yet. Not a problem, we said, we're leaving for a 3 week trip to a lake 60 miles north (85 from his shop) and we'll call when we get home. Sitting at our site the next week for afternoon coffee break and our dealer pulls up with the new arm. A half hour later, it's installed, and all cleaned up. That folks is service.
Now we get to do it again in a couple of weeks as 2 footitis struck and we're doing an upgrade. With this same dealer of course.

I was shocked that they took care of EVERYTHING on my list. The dealer was outstanding. My list was 43 items long and took 8 or 9 pages of the service departments forms!
They did have the trailer for 2.5 months, but it was over the winter and I wasn't planning on using it anyway.
I couldn't have been happier.
BTW, most of the items seemed to be related to the manufacturer, however a number of items the dealer had to pay for because Komfort said no.
I guess I was fortunate in that my Komfort had very few problems. I've only had one truly annoying issue and that's a leaking water inlet hose for the toilet. It's leaked several times, but a 1/4 turn with a screwdriver usually takes care of it. I do know that shortly after we bought our FW, this dealer dropped Komfort being owed nearly 6 figures for warranty work they'd performed going back nearly 2 years.

Have them pull the inside bezel on the AC and tighten the bolts, they are almost always loose.

Climb up and look at the roof. There could be lots of construction debris under the membrane.

I had a list a mile long of stuff I wanted them to check for tight - all info I gathered from the forums. Guess who ended up checking it all .......The guy at the PDI gave me back my list and said "call us if something breaks" - they don't pay us enough to rebuild them here on our lot.

That's about the time I tear up the contract and check (or call my bank, right then and there, and put a stop-payment on the check). THEN, I walk into the owner's office and tell him what a (insert your favorite insulting name) his employee is and that this dealership is now off my "buy from" list and I'll be sure to spread the word via the Net. What I'd =really= like to do would be to hook up the rig, and toss these parting words out the window as I drive off, "call me if the check doesn't clear". :-)

Lyle Ya I know - I was bent and stomped my feet - but in the end I chose the high ground. There was actually something to what he said - because he really doesn't have time to "check" all those things just because I "suspect" they were issues.
As it is today - I checked all those things - found some leaks, found some loose wires, found some loose screws. The rig has performed well for over 5 years. During my 1 return visit for warranty - the original Service Manager stepped down and the new Service Manager has turned out to be great for us as well as our friends that bought from them. I will buy again from them.

QC, PDI, and "fixit" lists:
Had some time to kill during DW's morning "routine" at a casino campground in Vegas, walked across the street to a dealership selling the same brand as what I have.
Not shopping -just chatting with a salesman . . . . somehow we got to talking about the various "fixits" (real or imagined) buyers have.
Mentioned no problems with mine - except for the only item *everybody* missed on the/my PDI.
The pocket door to the bedroom was missing a glide at the bottom.
(To keep the door centered)
Even after camping at the dealer's lot for two days - guess we just never closed the door.
It was *NO* big deal - about $2.50 and 5 minutes of *my* time, done!
He says . . .
"Yeah - the manufactures should give buyers a set of basic tools along with their purchase."
~
"Dieseldan723" - Yikes!
Guess that would be about 8 hours of the two and a half months at the dealer for "storage-fixits" in cold country..
Parts of AZ,CA,NV camp year-round "anytime" - so DOWNtime" is a bummer!.

I take delivery next week 1985 miles from home. I plan to spend all day Friday at dealer (per their request). They too have found items and corrected them. They will escort me to nearby RV park to watch and assist me in set up. Returning Monday morning for tear down. If I find any issues, they will correct them Monday, before I leave for New York. Any items not addresses will be corrected by Keystone dealer in my home town. I met with my local dealer, they could not accommodate our request for a Montana, but since they are a Keystone dealer, welcomed our Warranty work! Since local dealer sold us our last March, they have been very helpfull and made this purchase less stressfull. I think my being straight up with them about the Montana, and our solid relationship, had a great deal to do with it. I from time to time take boxes of donuts to their service department. Inexpensive way of building goodwill and showing appreciation.
