Hubby wants to bring his boat camping with the family so we can fish on the lake. DH is concerned that we'd have to pull the boat back out with the MH every evening and set up camp all over again. I have a Pontiac Vibe (FWD) and that wont get the boat out, but DH has a 1500 4WD, plus we'd have to double/tandem tow. Its allowed in ND but not something we would be able to do on longer trips.
How do MH campers FISH too??
How come I have the state that everyone else is missing??
Now, if only I wouldn't get car sick.

I tow a boat from ohio to arizona fish my way out, yep you gotta break camp ,but after you do it a couple times its not so bad, and some CG you can dock or pull up to the shore close to your rv.

We like to find campgrounds that also have boat slips. If the campground is close enough and we are camping for longer than two days we bring both vehicles so that we don't have to disconnect the water, electricity, windshield, etc.
Sometimes we can also park the boat on the shoreline but only if we know that area is not too rocky.
It IS a dilemma.

We try to camp close to the water and leave the boat in the water by our site. But when we cant we rent a boat slip too and leave it in the slip.
We launch the boat when we arrive and retrieve it when we leave. No problems at all. Using the MH is as easy as using my truck.

Hi All.
We also love to Fish. We have also been RV'ers for a liitle over 45+ years now.
We use to have an allumimn Boat and Motor. With a Pick-Up Truck it was never a real problem. Either Towing a TT or a 5er. I have been known to put a boat on top of our 5er.
But it really got to be a PITA. So many mnay years ago, I gave the Boat, Trailer & Motor to our oldest son.
We went with an "Inflatable Kayak" by Sea Eagal. There are quite a few different kinds of Inflatables by Sea Eagal to choose from. Even some that can use Motors.
It stores in its on Bag and only weights 25 lbs. Its very easy to set up and to put away. We have never had a leak, and it still looks almost Brand New.
Its great on Rivers and Lakes and at the Ocean too. Its rated for #4 Rapids. Which we are not into. It serves all of our needs. As its very easy to store and to use, and doesn't take up hardly any room at all.
It still allows us to Fish in deeper waters. You should see some of the Biggies we have caught in our Kayak.
Its also nice just to padddle around in, espically close to sundown. It may not work for everyone, but it sure has worked out great for our needs.
And the best part, is one person can carry it very easily. Also no moving the RV at any time.
One of the Best things we have bought for RV'ing. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

We had the same dilemma and chose to tow the boat tandem behind the 5er. I didn't want to pack up camp every evening and to move the motorhome and pull the boat out at night.
If your state allows it you should give it some thought. I have been doing it for over 10 years, going somewhere almost every weekend in the summer, and it really isn't that much different than pulling just the 5er. My usual set up is my 5er and my 21' ski boat, but I also have a 16' aluminum Lund. I can honestly say that I don't notice the fishing boat when it is back there.

Thus far we have only taken our boat to lakes that are within a couple of hours of us, we usually go to these lakes for 2,3 or 4 night stays. I tow the boat with our truck, that way we have the extra vehicle there for trips to town, dinner out, bait buying, and all that jazz. I guess we could tow the boat behind the motor home but when we're that close to home this arrangement works for us.
This summer we are going somewhere further away that we plan to take our Sea Eagle inflatable. We'll be towing the car behind the motor home. I think it will work out pretty well and keep my DH happy because he can fish.
