Trying to buy Hankook AH11's, 245/70-19.5 for my MH. Not worried about best price down to the nickel. Just want fresh inventory and a shop that can machine balance that size. Prices have ranged from 1950 to 2450 out the door. Problem starts with "no guarantee" on age since they need to come from their wholesaler. The folks with the right equipment and reasonable price have 13 month old tires in stock and will not special order. Very frustrating.

Ran into the same issue at a truck tire dealer that is highly recommended in Escondido, Ca....Would not guarantee any tire newer than 2 yrs old...Good grief....Walked away and found there are plenty of others that will send them back to the mfg/wholesaler if they are over a certain number of months old.....One dealer I talked to said he sends tires back all the time for MH's that come in over 6-9 mos old....

Shop around, there are others that will work with you....

I guess I don't understan why so much problem getting recent inventory. All the shops I checked with had no problems provided Hankooks less tha 6 months old. Mine were 3 months old.

Price certainly does vary a lot but all my bids were withing $200.00 OTD.

Perhaps it simply the dealers in your part of the country.

My tire guy made a phone call and got the tire date while I stood there. Ordered them and they were as stated. Small independent tire shop and Michelins.

If more people would buy Hankock tires, the date codes would probably be less then a couple of months old. Just like anything else.

Just bought 4 19.5 hankook tires. Production date was 12/11. Out the door
price was $1,550.00. Had two quotes within $20.00 of each other.
Tires were purchased in New Port Richey, FL

It probably takes that long just to get them into the US and into warehouses.

Amortize the shorter "USE" life due to age and compare to more expensive tires that have a more current manufactured date. Maybe the cost savings is little or none to run on Hankook tires.

Put 6 on last year, told dealer wanted fresh. He said any we receive and the date was not acceptable to me, he would send them back.

All were 3 months old, except 2 which were 1 year old, sent them back and got 2 more 3 months old.

My $ doesn't transfer hands. I am still the consumer, and there are many tire dealers out there that want to sell tires and provide customer satisfaction.
