I have seen a few folks posting about their lose bolts on their AC units and asking questions about replacing the gasket. I replaced my AC unit gasket on my Jayco HTT and thought I would post a few photos for those who want to replace theirs.

Nice write-up.
Was your gasket leaking or did you just do this as maint?

I had a leak last season and I snugged up the bolts and it fixed the leak but I noticed that the gasket was looking kinda thin so I replaced it this spring as part of my maint.

good post - thanks for the photos...
Impressive how thin they get after being used for awhile...
I noticed you may have had your air conditoner up on its edge for awhile... Did that bother anything...
It sure is amazing that those four long bolts is the only thing holding the air conditioner down...
My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM me

No I just gently flipped it on end and it only took maybe 30 minutes and I had it back down with the new gasket on. Did not hurt anything however you do not want to drag the unit across the roof at all. Aways pick it up and gently set it to the side. But yes it is amazing that only four bolts hold it down.

When I replaced mine, I bought 2 gaskets and stuck them together. My theory is that with double the gasket material, at some point the crushing of the gasket from the unit would stop and you should end up with enough gasket left that you shouldn't have to replace it again. I check the bolts once a year and snug them up if needed. So far so good.
