Hi Empire,
Something does not sound right. Did it say GE Lexan polycarbonate on the label?
We put real 1/4" Lexan in a press break at work and bend it 90 degrees and it does not crack....
Now plexiglass will crack looking at it sideways... The 1st camper I used plexiglass and snapped a panel in 1/2. The next camper I used real lexan and even sawed it with my radial arm and saber jig saw using a fine wood blade.

I use a metal cutting blade, the more teeth the better, and I find it works faster and cleaner cold, but hot it tends to melt its way through the material.
Couldn't have been true lexan. I have cut lexan in a pinch with a blade designed for trimming tree branches in a sawzall, 50 miles into a trail in the Canadian woods.
After having the big box store cut mine to size, I rounded the corners with a band saw, then smoothed them with a belt sander. happy-2, it's awesome to be able to leave the door open on those crisp mornings or hot afternoons without losing all your heating or cooling. I went the next step and added a magic mesh screen door. Now I have a door, storm door, and screen door.
