My trailer weighs about 4600# loaded ... lets say 6000#

If either of those cant do the job, might as well park it for good...lol
Tundra rated to 9000# towing, ecoboost is 11000..
And the ecoboost is better on gas but nothing to write home about from what I've heard

They're both good trucks; I'd buy the one you like the best and can get the best deal on. Either will tow your rig with ease. I've got an 07 Crew Max and like the room. Ford has a nicer interior IMO. The Tundra has a proven drive train. Biggest advantage with the F150 is you can get more payload which may or may not make a difference to you. No problems with my old '07.

Fords are better and better every year and Toyotas have been in a free fall. The F150 is a great truck and a huge success for years. The worst part of Ford trucks were the diesel engine which they didn't make and finally threw out (thank God).

LOVE my new 2012 F350 King Ranch diesel so far.

Free fall? Really? Wow.

Can't beat the F150HD with Ecoboost. No doubt the best truck in the 1/2-ton class, for payload, towing power and gas mileage.

I agree. Nice truck on paper. If the EB lives up to the rep, it's certainly the one to beat.

Tundra!

Wow, a vote for the foreign tundra. That proves there is life from Mars.

Yes, with little green men driving Tacomas and Tundras. Is there really anything such as an
"100 percent" US car company any more?

Here is another consideration. I believe you can only get the Toyota CrewMAX with the 5.5' bed. You can get the F150 SuperCrew with 5.5' and 6.5' beds. The F150HD SuperCrew comes with 6.5' bed only. I would personally not want a 5.5' bed. The 6.5' is short enough as it is.

I don't quite understand what was said here. I am interested in the Ford Ecoboost SuperCrew with the 5.5' bed, and the Max Tow option. Is that an available configuration?

Thanks.

He's saying the 6.5 is small enough so definitely wouldn't go 5.5. And yes you can get crew cab 5.5 max tow package, it's 7650 gvwr where the 6.5 bed version has a 7700 gvwr. This is what we a getting.

What he said.

The GVWR with the HD Payload option is 8200 lbs. HD Payload is available with SuperCrew and 6.5' bed.

A family member has an F150 SuperCrew with the 5.5' bed and that bed is just soooo tiny. My Ranger short bed has more bed space than his F150!

Yes, you can get the SCREW & 5.5 bed in a max tow, just not the max payload (HD).

I have the Tundra 5.7 and LOVE it. Great truck with plenty of power for a 1/2 ton. Mileage is around 16 when I drive, but when I babied it for one trip I got almost 19 by keeping speed around 65.

Hope you like the Ecoboost, its certainly a great idea and I hope it proves reliable. I think it has the ability to change the way we see truck engines. My only suggestion is to seriously consider tow mirrors if you plan on towing a lot. They are worth their weight in gold as far as I am concerned!

Besides the powertrain considerations, the Tundra has a really crappy frame. The Ford frame blows away the Tundra in this important consideration.
