Yes the AC will run by itself and nothing else running but does anyone do that at RV park
Most of the time other things are needed more.
The fridge would have to be on 12 volt as well

My answer is MAYBE you can run the A/C. Note if the voltage INSIDE your RV drops below 110 VAC for more than a second or so when A/C turns on, then running A/C may cause it to fail. ANSI recommends NEVER to run A/C with less than 110 VAC input for very long. That is why many of us carry autoformers, which correct for low voltages. I find I need mine at about 20% of the parks we visit.

So, can you do it? Maybe, if the CG has large enough wire, few enough campers, and it isn't too hot out.

IMO buy a voltmeter, then you will know. We keep one plugged in inside our TT all the time.

Lots of excellent posts on this.

Ok, let's start at the beginning. You've got something that the manufacturer is calling for 30 Amps at 120 VAC to power. That should mean that with everything that would reasonably be running at the SAME TIME it would draw no more than 30 Amps. Now, could you hook up to a circuit that could supply 20 Amps? SURE! Problem is, if you turn everything on at the same time you could trip the 20 Amp supply breaker and possibly damage an on-board device. Could be a very expensive experiment. So, just make sure you never turn on enough electrical devices to draw more than 20 Amps. Everything should have a rating printed on it or in it's instruction manual so just add them up. If you want to run the A/C, then check how many amps it draws and if it is 20 Amps then that one device and only that one device can be run at any ONE TIME. If the A/C draws 15 amps then you could run that a combination of other things that would total no more than 5 amps. Also, be aware of starting current draw. Motors draw more current upon starting up than while running. Be very cautions about this.

Better yet: just get the 30 Amp service!

What is a autoformer and where do I get one.

Where can I order one of those voltage meters and how do I make them work?

Thanks for the info on this question I have learned a lot.

At the park I most often frequent there is one camping spot that I often get stuck in. The power box is so far away that I have to use a heavy 20 amp cord and a cheapie adapter to reach. I never worried on my old travel trailer but, I have a new-used Travel Trailer this year that has a discontinued Emerson RV Air Conditioner on the roof. It works well but, I would hate to burn out the fan motor because I can't get parts for it anymore. So any help you can all give will be greatly appreciated.

EMTA17 - You can run your air conditioner just fine on a 20AMP service. The problem will be that just about maxes everything out and if you turn on something else like the microwave or some other high current appliance it will trip the breaker.

We can run everything on our trailer hooked up to our garage 15A service but have to watch what is turned on at the same time.

Not perfect but better than not having it at all...
