Well it is spring cleaning time. Any good tips on how to get an awning clean? Do any of you every use a pressure washer(lower pressure)? Any good cleaning products or combo of products?
Thanks,
Ed

Pine Sol works well too. Mix it in a bucket with water, brush it on and then roll the awning up to sit for a bit while you wash the rest of the trailer. Open up, rinse and let dry.

I use a pressure washer and Murphys Oil Soap. Soap it down, roll it up and let it soak about 30 minutes and rinse. Let it dry and apply 303 protectant.

Spray it with Tilex mold/mildew remover bathroom cleaner. Roll up for 15-30 minutes. Unroll, rinse and allow to dry. All done.

I normally only clean mine once a year and use Simple Green full strength and roll it up for 30 min or so and simply unrolling and rinsing it really doesn't get it clean enough to my liking. Now when I unroll it and before rinsing I go over it with the following that attaches to an expanding pole that I can reach to top of the awning with it unrolled all the way. It doesn't take a lot of scrubbing, but otherwise I get get the black marks from being rolled up off. Once rinsed and dry I give it a good coat of 303 and using the same scrubby as below with a rag wrapped around the head to spread the 303 evenly over the awning.

Saw a great idea in the CG I'm currently staying. Guys are using the 1 gal. sprayer tank normally used for week killing or grass fertilizing to wash their vehicles & awnings. Mix whatever you want to use with 1 gal. water, spray it on, brush a bit, rinse it off.
Saves filling a bucket & slopping on the soap with a brush & saves on cleaning stuff since there's little waste. Gotta get me one!

Now I know why I could not get mine clean. I just brush the cleaner on (Dawn or Murphys) and hose it off. I like the idea of rolling back up, having a beer, and then unroll it and rinse.
