We got to our northern home on Saturday, after 6 months in Florida. Still unloading the MH,and going for doctor visits. We love both places during their best seasons.Burned out kitchen light needs replacing, high winds blew shingles off the garage roof today. At least the lawn was mowed and looking good.

Yes and no,
Yes because I was finally able to locate the foul smell that has been around off and on for the past month, thought it was the grey water tank, turns out it was a chassis battery.

And NO because I have a lot of weeding and lawn work to catch up on. Also, for some reason I keep running over a sprinkler on the park strip with the motorhome every year when we return. Seems like an annual event. Maybe I need to move to St. George Utah and become a Sunbird instead of a Snowbird and enjoy no grass and sprinklers.

Anyone heading north to Ontario, Canada should hold off for a few more days as we're expecting SNOW now. Yep; the white stuff is returning tomorrow.

Sure was a culture shock to return a week ago and have to hunker in front of the fireplaces with the cozy rug wrapped around us while drinking our morning java!

Not home yet but intend on leaving this Saturday. I think I'm ready to be back home at least for a while. Of course once there that may change in a hurry. We'll be home for the summer this year so the wife can recoup from her back surgery. Then 6 1/2 months before we return to FL.

Currently in Kentucky enjoying a "Happy Derby." No desire to race back to northern MN only to look out a window into a leafless abyss.

Am getting the itch to put the peddle to the medal though to be with the kids/grand kids. Phone calls, e-mails, Facebook, and Skype just don't cut it.

We got home from Arizona on Easter weekend. People here were raving about the nice weather they had in March. Been cold, wet and even some snowflakes since we got here. Except for a few nice days.
Won't make the same mistake next year!

Made the same mistake two winters ago, after all the rave reviews of the mild winter and early spring that was going on back then.

I'm sure when a person is coming out of a northern winter things look a whole lot different to them then when you're coming out of the south into the same environment.

I now ask (or look at the pictures posted on Facebook) if the leaves are out. If the answer is no, then I slow the trip north down and smell the roses (no pun either, they were out at Church Hill downs, all ready for Derby week.)

Right now the hosta isn't even out of the ground in MN, but in the middle of the country they're fully leafed out. If you garden, that is telling you that spring time is still a few weeks off back north.
