OK Marcus, the question is.....Where's the Beef????

I just completed my second online order with CW and again my "membership" got me nothing. I ended up paying the same amount for this purchase as any one on the planet would pay, member or not. I have yet to see where the blending of GS and Presidents club membership has benefited me in any way.

While I have your attention, on another matter..... The Lifetime membership price at $299 is a bit over the top. It would take me 15 years to make it a better deal than what we now pay and I don't think I have 15 years of RVing left in me. If it was say $149 or possibly even as high as $175 it would be much more do-able for those in our age bracket. For a "deal" to really make sense and be attractive, it must be a DEAL!! $299 is not a deal. Additionally, I am unable to find any place on the GS web site that states what the additional benefits of lifetime membership are. I do know about the additional .02 on diesel at Pilot/Flying J but that's all I can find.

Stepping down from the soapbox now, thanks for listening.

I'd be willing to pay $49.99 for the LT thing but no more. Prices at CW can be too easily beat.

I will email you Marcus, but why doesn't GS make it easier to see the Lifetime member benefits and put up a comparison chart of the differences so someone can analyze the difference and see if that makes sense for them.

So if i have the ers, i can get the lifetime to GS at $199? Thats a deal!

I believe that even at $299 its a deal. If you feel you are getting too old, then perhaps it's not such a great deal for you. With inflation, the cost of membership is bound to go up. Just as buying a home and locking in a good rate, you are taking the chance that rates are going to increase. If rates didn't have the chance of changing in the future, then the variable rate thing would be a great deal. Same thing as here. Theres no promise that rates will not go higher in the future for GS. If you read Marcus' article in the Highways magazine that just came out, you will see that he is taking into consideration that one of the biggest complaints was the price of membership. He combined gs and cwpc and made it one. The benefits are greater. The gs price has not changed much but you are gettig more. He also stated that they are looking at ways to cut costs and therefore allowing to charge less for membership. To be honest $299 was a bit much for me right now. But if I can get it for $199 since I have the ERS, then I might be emptying the penny jar. Im 43. I hope I have another 20-30 yrs of RVing.

At your age and being in the ERS I guess it would be worthwhile for you. I have a year of free Coachnet and would be wasting my $$ if I bought GS ERS in the next year so the $199 deal is out for me at this time. I also have a year and a half left on my current GS membership.

Hummmmmmm. I swear, I sent an email that night but looking in my sent folder it does not appear. My apologies, I will fix that right now.
