Pulled the cover of our 2008 A/F 990 and started my dewinterize procedure today. Plugged in the Rieco Titan jack remote and pressed the all up button to raise the camper off its storage platform. Only the L/F jack was raising, I let go of the button and to my suprise the L/F jack keep raising the camper and would NOT stop! I unplugged the 120 power and turned the battery disconnect off to stop it. Allmost tipped the camper on its side. Ended up raising it all the way up manualy and loading on to the truck before any more excitement. After alittle testing it seems to be a problem with
the remote itself, has anyone ever run into this ?

I havent, but thanks for giving us something to remember and think about when first loading after winter. Im going to be like a nervous squirrel running around the camper when I hit the jack button,,,,it wont be the first time I entertain the neighbors somehow.

Mental note if you ever run into this, the jacks "atleast mine" can be unplugged directly from the camper at each jack. This did come in handy while testing for the source of the failure but would have been nice to know when all hell was breaking loose.

I had something similar happen....I was standing to the drivers side of the camper raising it in preparation to load on the truck. What I didn't realise is that the drivers side was raising but NOT the passenger side. Luckly, I stepped in front and caught what was happening before a disaster occured. The 4,300 camper had a severe 15-20 degree list to the passenger side! I too believe it was a wireless remote issue.

Mine are Riecos and they each have a small plug into the camper that can be unplugged if needed.

Wish that disconnect plug would have crossed my mind during the self raising event.

i know most/all will disagree but for ME this is just another reason to go with manual jacks as i seldom if ever take the camper off the truck and do not care for the drama (real or perceived) in loading/unloading the TC.other reasons are: weight as i remove my jacks, cost, reliability, etc.that said i do cheat and use 2 cordless drills(one for each side on the rare occasions that i off/on the TC.
YMMV
