Does anyone know what the regulations/laws are pertaining to purchasing a Class C RV in Canada and then registering/importing into the US?
I'm shopping for a used Class C. I live very close to Canada and have one specific Canadian manufacturer in mind. I have read that there are some issues with this sort of transaction but have been unable to find any information that makes the regulations clear to me. If it's impossible to do, I'd like to know before I invest a lot of time/effort in research.
Can anyone bring me up to speed or tell me where I should look for this info?
Isn't it ironic that there is so much red tape to get anything done between our country and our closest neighbor and ally? I know it used to be that if you purchased a vehicle in Europe and drove it there for awhile, you could import it to the US with little trouble. It did have to meet US specs, however. JMO
