Just throwing my 2 cents in. These are former Gulfstream Coach employees. I had a Gulfstream and thank goodness I had a good local dealer to re do the things that should have been done at the plant.

The nice stories of driving all the way back to Indiana and the great treatment is fine, but with most of the respected manufacturers, you can go back to the dealer at a time and money savings. The key that I have learned after having motorhomes for years, is finding a good dealer to purchase from and a quality product.

Owning a Tiffin, I did like the factory stories etc but have not had to go back to Alabama once.

I did state, when I was talking Nexus, that I live in Texas, and if I bought, Nexus would make the local dealership, an authorized factory dealership to fix things. Oh, the local dealership is camping world. so, I guess that would mean, any thing under factory warranty could be fixed down in Texas. I hope that is right. Also, I took a video look at the class B+. The 29, triple slide. There re just two of us, and plan to be on the road for just six to eight months a year. So,now I am just thinking that just maybe the class B vs, the C might work just as well. There seems to be more outside storage on the 29 B, vs. the 32 C. Any comments on this comparison?

First off - I had a 2001 Gulfstream Conquest Classic for 8 years and I never had to take it back to the dealer. Great coach. Hopefully the owners of Nexus learned all of the potential good things from their days at Gulfstream, plus, all of the things that they know can be done better.
As stated above, they invite you to the factory, but you do not have to go there - they arrange for local service.
Oh - and I now own neither a Gulstream nor a Nexus.

I hear you about a local dealer. my wife says we got ripped off once, and held our TT for over a month, and wants us to look to another dealership. So, I guess before I think about buying long distance, I need to find a real good dealership, that will handle not bought here, just as well as bought here.Good point to ponder, and think bout.

When I was looking I wanted storage. I went with the class C because of the extra storage over the cab (I opted for the Entertainment Center and extra storage vs the bunk there) and the class C's are wider than the B. I got the 31P over the 32P because of the basement storage in the 31 vs very little in the 32. Also, the awning on the 32P is very small vs a much larger awning on the 31P. The 32P offers more interior storage especially if you trade the bunk beds for a wardrobe, and sleeps 10 with the bunks. Frankly sleeping 10 in a 32 ft motorhome is ludicrous IMHO. The 31P can sleep 8, but I eliminated the bunk over the cab and had them replace the dinette with a desk that doubles as a side by side dining table. So mine can sleep 4, but even that is 2 too many. :-)

I think I will look closer at the 31P, but having that extra interior space, with my wife's two sewing machines, and going with the half wardrobe, and one bunk, so she can lay out sewing stuff was my thought. The entertainment center is a fore sure. Does the tv telescope out, like in the class B? The outside storage is a drawback. The patio issue has not been thought of, thanks, for that. Are you towing anything with the 31P? We plan to tow a vw bug convertible on a dolly.

Yes, the inside wardrobe configuration can be very positive. I think it was the losing the large pass-thru storage on the 32 that sold me on the 31. The TV on the entertainment center opens up using a top hinge with enormous storage behind it.

How do you folks feel about the steel frame these are built on instead of the typical aluminum frame most other manufacturers are using ?.............Nexus says they don't weigh that much more

Personally I feel great about it The entire coach is framed in steel, roof included.

I agree with GrumpyGator - I just picked up my 31' NEXUS Phantom and the "Light Weight" steel surrounding this unit is one of the reasons I picked it. It adds about 68 pounds to the unit - not a big deal. It also gives the roof and the sidewalls some stability not found in other Class C's. I think it was a great innovation. Very pleased with my 31 footer.
