There is nothing wrong with installing a double pole breaker for 30A. Actually, for marine shore power aplications, ABYC requires that all current carrying wires be broken with a C/B. That would include the neutral, and in the case of a 50A, it would require a 3 pole breaker so that both hots and neural were broken. In the case of 30A, you just need to check the plug by measuring across the
