I just came back from Yuma AZ driving my car. DW and I were on spring break and we went to visit her cousin. My rant is why in the heck do MH drivers and truckers have to think they can come over in to the passing lane with out a signal of their intent and almost cause a wreck in the process? I can see why road rage comes into play. some people just are plain stupid. I saw a motor home follow a TT and had a long line of cars behind them, the MH driver pulled into the left passing lane when the lane became available and took the entire lane to the top of the hill and never got around the TT. plus he could not get back into line since there was a long line of cars that came up behind the TT. He had to stop at the top of the hill in the passing lane and let all the cars pass before he could get back inline, which make it a dangerous situation for all the cars behind him in the passing lane. Then north of twin falls Id the truckers had a lot of people, me included, slamming on our brakes when they darted into the left lane to pass trucks on hills. One such truck took about three miles to get around the other truck. this guy almost took off a SUV's front end, it was so close.

Why do people...?
Why does everyone....?
questions there are absolutely no answers.
you can rant but it won't fix anything
but yes I agree that stupid driving situations can drive one up a wall. don't dwell on it long because another will take its place fast probably

When out on the highway I just assume that sooner or later someone is going to do something stupid. I try anticipate it and stay far enough away fo have an "out", and not get emotionally involved in anything. Somtimes easier said then done, but always try.

Truckers are bad about taking forever to pass another vehicle. There is a long 6% grade north of Phoenix (between Black Canyon City and Sunset Point) on I-17 that has two lanes each way. Truckers had to be limited to the right lane only and prohibited from passing on that stretch because many of them would block the passing lane for much of, if not the entire, distance to the top. Before the bans, it wasn't unusual fro me to take that hill at 25 all the way up because some inconsiderate twit of a trucker was trying to pass another one and just didn't have the power to pull it off (or thought it was fun to block traffic).
Numerous times on the I-10 in the mountains between Blight and Indio, I've seen truckers try to pass other trucks on an upgrade, then, when the grade leveled out out a bit, the trucke being passed speeded up and the passing truck had to drop back. All this time, I (and several other vehicles) are hanging back doing 50 because we couldn't get around the bloody buggers (and I'm not stupid enough to try to pass or even get close to them unless I have a clear shot at it).

Everyone...............slow deep breaths.
In...........out..........in.........out.
The last thing I do is let someone upset me while I am driving.
First, it affects my driving and second, it gives them control over me.
I drive the best I can, watch out for others and the rest is just so much white noise.
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

Stupid drivers come in all sizes as do the objects they are driving. We could go all day on why people do the things they do but it boils down to our own ability to be aware of things and people around us.
I could write a book on cars that think that just because you have a tiny bit of space between you and and car in front of you that they should swing into your lane. MHs and trucks can't stop on a dime and whenever I have seen a car vs truck... the truck wins.
