And that my friend is the absolute truth, although, I still like to start out a couple hours before sun up, so the sun comes up as I'm driving, just seems to revive me, must be some psychological mind game the body plays.

Drive during Daytime, six to seven hours a day max.

Night driving does have the advantage of lighter traffic, usually lower wind speeds. If there were just some way to get around that not being able to see the beautiful countryside. Not really sure how towing a trailer makes any difference one way or another though.

I prefer daytime driving. It makes it easy to keep an eye on ther rig and see any problems that may arise. Also for all of the reasons listed earlier.

daytime driving preferred but will do night if the schedule insists on it for whatever reason. daytime I can see the scenery, stop to explore cause places are open. And daytime you do avoid more critters etc.

We leave early/mid morning - enjoy the scenery and prefer at most 4 hours of driving - gives us a chance to enjoy the pace and where we'll going.

Depends on the road, I kind of like night driving for assorted reasons, Cooler, (That cockpit is a hot house in the day) and easier to see other traffic sometimes.

But on Kentucky backroads ... Not so much fun.

So it's the road that makes the difference.

Typically, we limit our day's worth of driving to 200 miles. One of the BP meds I'm one has fatigue as a side effect. It usually requires a 45-minute nap at about 16:00, so that's our "end of trip" time.

The only time we'd contiue on after that is if we're headed home, where we know the roads. Honestly, the headlights on our rig are so wimpy, I'm afraid to drive at more than 45 mph in the dark, for fear the wind will blow them out!
