Stayed at Apache a couple of years ago. A bit of a mix-up on reservation, so they put me on an ocean front lot. Not bad, not bad at all.

Both are nice, MB Travel Park just finished building all new bath houses not re-do of old baths these are brand new. I've stayed at apache down next to the pier and restruant, good spot. To me its a tossup.

Apache is older and more run down. Not a place we'd stay. On the plus side, the beach views are less obstructed by dunes there.
MBTP is our favorite campground in MB. We don't care for any of the parks to the south.

MBTP. Is nicer than Apache, with large pull thru sites. Biggest drawback. No beach when the tide is in, Many times no ocean front road when the tide is in.
Apache is all back in and at the moment they are small, However, I talked to the new owner, and he is updating the entire CG. with many pull thrus, and larger back ins. And as mentioned. The ocean views from apache are great, Pluss they have the widest beach of any MB CG. AND a pier.

Must be a different MBTP from the one we've stayed at for years. We've never encountered those problems. Certainly the beach is narrower at high tide (of course), but there's still plenty of it. The only water we've ever seen on the ocean front road has been from rain.

I'm currently in Pirateland, but took a drive through Travel Park today. I can say that my next Myrtle Beach vacation will be there. The oceanside sites are pretty large compared to Pirateland. However, I know absolutely nothing about Apache.

We go to Ocean Lakes every year and love it. Very friendly people. The park is clean and full of amenities.
