Hi, thought I would put up a short posting about my 22" flat screen TV install.
My old 12 CRT TV was in a triangular cabinet on the driver's side (visible to the left in the photo). I have a cabover bed, and wanted to be able to view the new Flatscreen from either the cabover, or the salon -- so I decided to mount the TV up high. I also ended up relocating the TV across to the passenger side as this gave the most versatility for my layout. Getting the antenna coax to the other side of the motorhome took some doing.... I ended up drilling from inside the old TV cabinet up into an aluminum frame member in the ceiling, and pushing a coax wire thru the frame member to the passenger side, where I fished it out thru another hole I drilled in a passenger-side cabinet.
The TV is mounted on an articulated swing-arm bracket that I got on Amazon for about $20, similar to this one:
The TV is a 22" Vizio with LED edge-lighting from Costco. When traveling, the TV is swung around so the screen faces forward, and is secured by a nylon strap with plastic snap buckle (this strap is screwed to the forward side of the cabinet end-wall next to the swing arm bracket).
I'm pretty happy with the setup, although sometimes it would be nice to have the TV mounted lower like tenbear did in his install. As it is, it is perfect when laying on the sofa, or laying in the cabover bed (you swing the TV around for that).
I can also run the TV sound thru my stereo system (you can see the speakers on each side of the motorhome... there is also a 10" subwoofer on the floor behind the drivers seat). I just plug a patch cord into the TV's earphone out jack, and plug the other end into the aux in on my stereo. The stereo has a remote control so you can adjust the volume from anywhere.
In the photos you can see a Blu-Ray player on a little custom made shelf I screwed to the bottom of the cabinets. On the sofa below the TV you can see a black case that holds 240 movie DVDs.
This weekend I also installed a Logitech Revue Google TV box in the cabinet above the Blu-Ray. The Google TV box has a USB port that you can plug a 2.5" disk drive into... I have such a drive (1TB Western Digital Passport shirt pocket sized drive) with hundreds of TV shows and dozens of movies on it. I normally use that drive on my home entertainment system, but when I want to use the motorhome I can just grab the drive and go.
I love the TV setup, but I equally love having all the extra space in the triangular cabinet where the old 12" CRT TV was... that is a big cabinet, and holds lots of boxes of cereal, chips, and other snacks.
Looks real good. I like the hanging shelf for the Blue Ray. My cabinet bottoms are full of wires, did you attach the shelf with screws? My DVD player sits on the cabover (used as a storage area) and is not easy to use there.
I don't know why I never thought of putting coat hooks on the partition. That looks like a great place to hang the jackets that seem to always be in the way.

Hi Tenbear... yeah, the cabinets on most RVs have a double bottom with 3/4" space between that is used for a wiring chase for supplying 12v lighting and 120v electrical outlets (the normal exception is the bottom of the TV cabinet, which is built heavier to support those old heavy CRT TVs). Where I put the Blu-Ray player shelf is the "end of the line" on my cabinets, and originally there were no electrical devices in that area, and thus no wires.
I screwed the Blu-Ray player shelf into the cabinet bottom. On the two front corners and one back corner of the shelf I was able to screw up into some 1"x1" wood framing that supports the cabinet double bottom -- that is, three corners of the shelf are attached to solid wood above rather than just thin paneling,. The screws go up thru the bottom of the shelf, thru the shelf sides, and into the cabinet bottom.
The shelf is held out from the wall a couple of inches to allow for passage of the Blu-Ray power cord and HDMI cable. Using a 2" hole saw I drilled up thru the cabinet bottom between the back of the shelf and the wall, creating a passage into the cabinet for the Blu-Ray cords. I also drilled a 2" hole thru the cabinet end wall for the TV power cord and HDMI cable. Both of these holes are located out of normal sight.
After I installed the shelf, I did drag new 12v and 120v wiring thru the double cabinet bottom above the shelf (extended from the existing 12v light and 120v receptacle that were originally in the cabinet bottom further to the rear of the coach). These extended wires serve a new 120v receptacle surface-mounted in a shallow blue box (only about an inch deep) inside the cabinet the for the TV and Blu-Ray player, and a new 12v jack that can run the TV, a small inverter, or a cell phone charger, when not on shore power.
I added a piece of that foam non-slip shelf/drawer liner to the shelf to keep the Blu-Ray player from sliding around. I also trimmed the front edge of the shelf with a small piece of molding -- I installed it a little high, so it creates a small lip on the front edge of the shelf which prevents the player from sliding forward while driving.
About the coat hooks -- yes, that partition is a perfect place to locate them. The partition is solid wood so you have plenty of meat to screw to... but be careful with the length of screws you use. In my case I screwed right thru the fiberglass skin on the outside of the motorhome in one place --OOPS! Oh well, I caulked the hole, and it is not very noticeable.
I added more of those nice big hooks on the bulkhead near the entry door, and also several along the top of the bathroom door on both sides. Cloths hooks are not only great for coats, but for hanging cloths at bedtime so they are not thrown around the coach.
Later...
