Glad it worked out for ya.If your house was built in the past 10 years and your state uses the NEC guidelines all the recps in the garage, bathrooms, kitchen countertops, butler countertop, outside, recps within 6ft of a sink, and in unfinished areas of your house are supposed to be on GFCI.If your drop cord has a very small knick in it and it rained thats all it would take too trip it out.

I had the AC checked out and the guy said it was kind of hard to tell if it will get real cold until it is real hot outside??? But the compressor came on when he plugged it in at his place. The temp dropped some when he put a small wire in the unit where the air comes out. Bottom line is he thinks our cords are old and worn ( I agree) so I bought a big honkin ex. cord and will go out an plug her up. Wish me luck

If you are trying to run the AC on a 15 amp plug, the size of your cord won't help...maybe that's why it tripped.

It was our crummy old extension cords. We bought a big honkin RV cord and plugged it in and we are now making ice cubes in the RV.
All to do over nothing....Whew...what's next. Come on Monday.

Carry that big cord with you. I've been to a few places (rare) that I needed it.

good deal, glad you found it.
Without that GFCI tripping you might not have known you had a problem for awhile.

Finding the problem because of your GFCI tripping might even have helped prevent a future shocking or fire.
