I have a Dometic 9100 Electric Power Awning that comes out on occassion without pushing any buttons. The most frequent times that this will happen is as you come to a stop from driving. Needless to say this can be dangerous plus scarey. So far the awning has not hit anything but I do not want for that to happen before finding what the cause is. This awning has come out once when we were traveling down the freeway at 65 mph. Another 3 times when pulling into a shopping centre and a gas station. Although the problem stated when the warrenty was still open but the warrenty is now expired and I am trying to work with Dometic toward a solution.

Anyone have the same problem or suggest a cause to look at?

I would be very suspicious of the switch that controls the awning. I suggest you start there.

Until you can find the problem, I would definitely pull the fuse or flip the breaker while traveling to prevent a disaster on the road.

I never had this problem with ours. But ours also has a key fob with it that you can roll out or roll up the awning from an adjacent site or vehicle. For that reason I installed a switch that cuts off all power to the awning when I flip it. It is in the off position while traveling and some other times.
