Anyone out there with a bike rack for 4 bikes and a carrier combo that works in a Class III hitch? Gettin tired of loading 4 bikes in the back bedroom- sure would be nice if something is out there. I have seen 3 bike combo rack and carrier but not 4. Was thinking of putting a hitch in the front of the MH too.

Thanks.

I have an older version of this: Swagman 4 bike carrier. I have been very satisfied with my rach and have had zero problems with it.

I believe I bought it online here: Draw-Tite They were easy to deal and cheaper than other sites.

It is also offered here for the same price and free shipping as well: etrailer

Yakima makes great rack systems. Here are two 4 bike racks.

I've torn up a couple of bike racks on the back of my RV. The Swagman is the only brand that has really held up, probably because it's made for RV's and some of the others stipulate that their no to be used with RVs.
Also, make sure your rear bumper is securely attached and don't think that just because a spare tire is ok back there that bikes will be too. The bike rack has a lot more leverage against the bumper - mine tore off.

I have a Thule 4 Bike that I just bought two years ago. Very heavy duty and has held up just fine. Bought it at a bike shop but don't recall how much.

Hi,

So you are looking for a cargo carrier, something that will carry a grill or something like that? And also want to attach a 4 bike carrier to your RV?

What I wanted to do (and have done many trips) is tow my car, with the center hitch receiver, carry 2 bikes on the passenger side receiver, and the dog cart on the drivers side receiver. I removed the hitch from the RV, and had two more receivers welded onto it.

They also make a adapter that will allow towing or a cargo platform on the lower side, and the upper section is about 4" higher, you can install a bike rack in that position.

ETrailer.comp should have everything that you need.

Call them and ask about the 6" long 2" receiver that can be welded onto a hitch to carry a bike rack. Ask about the 2 in one adapters for putting in a bike rack and carry a cargo platform.

I think I would rather install the extra receivers, so each is only going to carry about 100 pounds, instead of putting to much weight on one receiver. Remember that 100 pounds with the center of that weight 30" behind the hitch pin is actually 250 foot pounds of torque on that receiver, all it's welds, so it better be attached well, and to the motorhome well!

This past weekend I saw the "ultimate" bike rack....I kept admiring it in the campground and finally asked the folks about it.

It is an absolute work of art, all machined aluminum, and bomb proof. The owners love it and it seemed to be awesome....pricey, but awesome.

I have a 6 bike north shore rack for sale if you are still interested. We don't take that many bikes any more.
