We originally bought the Prompts, but GAVE THEM AWAY. You still need a ladder to put them on, and the side straps from the windshield cover go UNDER the side prompt window coverings, causing the side coverings to bulge out. Just not very attractive. Also, the suction cup thing is dumb, and they would come loose after a few hours.
We replaced the overpriced prompts for the professional looking Sunguards, as when they are snapped on (stainless steel snaps), they are nice and tight, and the material is much better than the Prompts. I can put my Sunguards on faster than I could the loose and flapping Prompts.

I also made my own like the MagnaShades. Bought the material from Home Depot and the magnets online. One thing to be careful of is the magnets. Once while installing the shades the magnet was attracted to my money clip in my pocket and it wiped clean all my credit cards. Had to replace all my cards. I've since changed the the magnets to mount on the outside of the windshield and use fender washers in the screen.

Another vote for "Prompt". Have used the same one for 8 years. We got dark brown (matches the motorhome) and folks we've talked with using a light color say, after viewing ours, that their view isn't as clear as ours. A dark color seems to work best. In answer to how we keep the suction cup holding - perhaps the user has some kind of film on the window or not a clean window which is causing them to fall. We just clean a little area where the suction cup will be and wet the suction cup with a wet paper towel and it stays. Perhaps calling "Prompt" for some ideas as to why yours aren't staying or perhaps you just need new ones. We love the screen!

Hi All.
We made our own. And the way thaat we did it, we can use them on the "Outside of the Windows" or on the "Inside of our Windows"
Bought a 10X20 ft Roll of "Sun-Sreen" at Homme Depot, if I remeber right for less than $40 dollars with tax.
So we can use them either way, depending on the weather.

Avoid anything with snaps. Standing on a ladder on uneven ground is not my idea of fun. It is dangerous.

I put on RV Sunshades. While in Naples "Gordy" the owner and his brother came right to our site and did it. The guy camping next to me had them done 5 years ago and they still looked new. One of his snaps got bent and had to be replaced so while gordy was there he fixed it for free.
That is what convinced me to use sun shade......5 years after installation they looked brand new.

I will be using my class A at the Burning Man festival where winds can kick up to 60 MPH and it can be very dusty.
Do you guys think the Magneshade will hold up or should I go with a inside cover?

We have the MCD outside shades and love them. One thing that seems unique to them is the bottom snaps have Velcro on them. This allows you to adjust the screens so they always fit nice.
The bottom line on what works best it comes down to what you will use. There is a company out there that does inside screens and says the reason their screens out perform screens on the outside is because people use them! What ever you buy won't help much if they stay rolled up in a bay.

..Just got done installing our Magneshade, have to agree with the other comments on it.
For us, the jury is still out as we haven't had a chance to see how it does in keeping the sun's heat out, but definitely like how the magnets make it sooo easy to put on and off. No ladders needed.

I agree with ryanallie, the ability to install them on the inside is very functional. I have had outside covers, and hate having to roll up a wet cover (after or during a rainstorm),and store it somewhere to keep from getting everything else soaked. I purchased these 2 yrs. ago http://www.rvsunshades4less.com/home.htmland have been very pleased with them. I can install or remove them during a rainstorm and never get a drop of water on me. They do not block the heat as well as the outside covers but they sure are easy to use.
