x2 it helps to eliminate pressure problems when hitched on a side angle and trying to air up.

I air up prior to hitching..part of our checklist we run though - everytime....I will adjust when on the road if necessary, usually to take air out.

Moved from 5th wheels to tow vehicles.

I measured from the ground to the top of the tire wheel well opening on the bed. Hooked up 5ver and added air to match the measured height. This keeps the truck at the original height. Keeps the front end alignment and head lights at the unloaded positions also.

Airbags are not designed to increase your load capacity. Read your instruction manual that came with them. Their only purpose is to level your vehicle once it has been loaded. I run about 15psi in mine when hitched up. It rides rough with much more than that.

I have Firestone bags and run about 45 lbs with a FW with a hitch weight of 2115 lbs. The formula for these bags is 1 psi for every 50 lbs of weight-I air b4 I hook up.
