I've got a slight issue with out new-to-us Jayco's tub surround. The outside wall panel (to the right facing the stall) uses those plastic push-in fasteners to hold it to the wall. The issue is that one of the holes that the plug is supposed to engage appears to have been mis-drilled or something, and is somehow too large to hold the retainer. Anyone have any ideas for a simple fix? I can't figure out any good way to fix the hole, and patching it over might make it too thick for the panel to lay flat against the wall.
I'll try and get a couple of pictures when we uncover it for the season...
One of the terms for the item you describe isarrow clips.
You might be able to find a larger one to fit the hole tighter. Some hardware stores carry them in the specialty fastener drawers.
Another place to try is an auto parts store in the section with the trim clips and trim fasteners, although most of them are black there are a few white ones too.
The Arrow clips would be my first choice if you can get them to work. If not, maybe drilling out the hole in the surround slightly bigger and using a short wall anchor like is used in drywall with one of those plastic caps that go over it to cover the screw head. If I ended up using this, I would put a nice dab of silicone on the screw head once tightened and before pushing the cap on to water seal it.
