You auto leveler is not working or did not have a chance to work. After being hooked up, start the Armada with it sitting still for about 4 minutes. It should be completley level if it works or have it. I do not think the base Armadas came with auto level if that is what you have. You also may have to fine tune your WD hitch. Way too much sag in the rear if a correctly setup hitch even if no auto leveler.

We have a 2004 SE with factory towing package. I recently had new tires and brakes put on it and I asked them to take a look to see if it had the air leveler. They said it did and that it was strange because Nissan only put a single sensor for it on the left rear wheel instead of both (or something like that).

So hook it up while it's off and start it and let it sit for about 4 minutes and it should level out? Or I should at least be able to hear it trying to level out.

Thanks.

Hook everything up with the motor off. Start the engine, after about a minute, you should hear a slight ticking sound (the pump running) coming from the rear. You can only hear it when standing by the tailgate outside the vehicle. It is pretty quiet. By 4 minutes, it should be level and stop running. If yours do not do that, your system is not working. You will probably have to get it looked at. Once the leveler is done, the truck will look exactly like if the trailer was not even hooked up.

Depending on what is wrong with the system and if you do not want to pay the money to get it fixed, a cheaper alternative is to get a airbag kit. This is the main culpret:

I'll test this out later this week! If it's not working I'll take it in and have it fixed. Hopefully it won't be terribly expensive. Thanks for the help.

Anaro is indeed correct, he steered me correctly on that one too. I set mine up with the car turned off, leveled it all with the Equal-I-Zer and then turned the car on...everything worked perfectly.

I'm glad my 2-3 months of struggling to get my WDH set up right and getting lots of help on these boards is helping someone, even if I don't have the Armada any more.

Chromag, my Armada was an 04 also but I had the LE model in Deep Water Blue. Loved it, handled a lot of smaller trailers flawlessly. Never knew I had a horse trailer behind it. It just didn't pair well w/ my current TT... as stated before, some feel there was a mechanical issue causing this but I was done dumping money into it to find out. As stated above, hook up w/ it off, turn it on and listen, you should hear it kick in. Mine was pretty easy to hear and it sounded very much like an air compressor just a little quieter than an air compressor.

Here is a picture of my rig once I got it set up properly.

Here is an older pic before I finished setting it up, notice the TT is slightly nose high but the Armada is only squatting a little bit in the rear. Before the auto load leveling suspension kicked in, the Armada squatted really low.

Maybe the dealer just did a shoddy job setting up my WD and/or the air compressor is shot. You can see how much the back of the Armada is squatting in that first pic. That was taken at the storage facility after towing it for a little over an hour.

Thanks for the pics.

Don't trust the dealership, they had mine set up all wrong. I have my cams all the way in even w/ the F250 because they drilled the reese into the frame too close to the front. I'm not interested in a new set of holes so I haven't changed it.

Very nice. Hope you enjoy every time outdoors.

I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Just a quick update. I did as anaro mentioned and stood near the rear of the TV last week as we hitched up for a test and I heard nothing. I took it to a local shop and they ran tests and it turns out that a relay was completely melted and the air leveling system wasn't working at all.

We went out today and hooked the TT up without the WD bars just as a test. What's that weird clicking noise?? A working air leveling suspension! Without the WD bars attached it lifted the back end up way more than when using just the WD bars. There was almost no sag in the rear suspension.

We have a trip planned next weekend. Can't wait to use it with WD and air leveling!
