Since none of my friends have their own campers, I was thinking of buying a tent to put in the TT and when someone wants to go, tell them they are welcome to come and stay in my tent. Has anyone here handled this issue in this way and if so, how did it work out? I don't want to sound inhospitable but even a couple of extra people sleeping in my trailer makes the trip much less enjoyable to me.
Tough call, but i've been there. Went on a week long trip with another couple. Diff town each night deal. By the end I was hoping we'd still be friends after the trip! We are, but agreed we like spending time together and hate living with each other.
Over a weekend? Maybe. Long trip? Not again!

It seems as if duration is the key!
While I like the people I hang out w/ I also get to get away from them daily.
We are making our TC for a comfortable 4, but believe 6 could be the big number I'd not want to try.

We have been asked the same thing by friends but declined. Offered to go where there were cabins instead. I am happy to do the preparation and cooking but at night, I want my camper to be just for us to relax in. I don't care if they use the shower or toilet(if we are on full h/u). I get claustrophobic with too many inside so we bought a nice, used popup for the 20somethings to use when they come. I don't mind paying for their site but this way their stuff is in their unit and they sleep there, play cards or whatever.

Yup, Washington and Oregon have Yurts like the one we used in the picture above. Insulated, heated and nice beds inside. It's an option out here for sure. Hans

I think the tent option is fine. Your guests can bring their own cushy bedding. If you are providing campsite & tent set up/take down what is there to complain about? You will find out if they really want to camp. The cabin idea of course would be ideal.

oops.. I did this to my trailer, so I guess you'll have to settle for the tent..

You are more then welcome to camp with me. Even in the same camp site... Sleep where you want..

We have a tent for just such occasions. Mostly the kids us it but we have had adults in it on occasion. Though during really hot or cold weather we have had additional guests inside. Not the best situation, but 1 night is okay by me. Most of the time when people ask, the first thing i tell them is sure we have a four man tent for guests. Usually they end up renting one of the cabins at or near the campground.
